| The conversation group is a weekly social activity and an excellent opportunity to practice your english or spanish.
The conversation group runs every Thursdays at 18:00 in University Arms Pub, 197 Brook Hill, S3 7HG. Map. This activity is free of charge. Members and non-members are welcome. Please come along with your friends to have a good time with us in a friendly environment. |

Son de América is a group of enthusiastic people that use the folk and dance to promote Latin America culture. They have taken part in major events like Carnaval del Pueblo - a parade through central London - , York Carnival and some members of the dance group even performed on Live Television (Ch 4 Paul O’Grady Show).

The group it's fun, a great place to make friends and keep fit. For non-Latin Americans it's an excelent to learn about Mexican and Latin American culture and practice your spanish (if you don't speak spanish you are also welcome). For the Latin Americans, it’s a great way to share your culture in this country and to keep it alive while you are away from home. The dance group is open to ALL ages and nationalities.
No experience at all is necessary.
You can commit to as much or as little time as you like.
The group performs regularly throughout the year, especially at summer festivals.
There is no pressure to take part in performances unless you want to and
feel ready to do so.
The group gathers all the knowledge everyone in the group has about Mexican and Latin American
dances and they teach themselves the dances.
Of course there are some dancers that have been dancing for years so have a
very knowledge of the
dances and are good teachers.
New members are encouraged to teach and show the group about any Latin
American dances they may know.
